FAQ: Can we have our pet euthanized outside or in their favorite place at home?
Yes. One of the advantages of at-home pet euthanasia is being able to choose a place where your pet feels safe and comfortable. That might be their favorite bed, your lap, a sunny spot by a window, the couch they were never supposed to be on, or even a peaceful place outside if the weather and circumstances allow.
Dr. Amy will work with you to make your pet as comfortable as possible and create a peaceful setting for your goodbye.

FAQ: How far in advance should I schedule at-home pet euthanasia?
There isn’t one right time to make the call. Some families contact us when they first realize their pet may be nearing the end of life, while others call when their pet’s condition changes quickly.
If possible, you don’t have to wait until your pet is in crisis. Reaching out earlier gives you a chance to ask questions, understand what to expect, and make decisions with a little more time to think.
If you’re unsure whether it’s too soon to call, it’s okay to reach out and talk about what’s happening with your pet.

Pet Aftercare Services
Once your pet has passed, we still care. To help reduce your personal pain, we can carefully transport your pet for cremation, either private or communal. We can also arrange for you to have a personalized memento of your loving pet in the form of a clay paw.

During private cremation, your pet remains alone, and their ashes are returned, in an urn of your choice, to your veterinary clinic. You may prefer this option if you’d like to keep your pet’s ashes.
You also have the option to purchase a clay paw as a keepsake to memorialize your best friend.

During individual cremation, your pet remains in a separate partitioned compartment, and their ashes are returned in an urn of your choice, to your veterinary clinic. You may prefer this option if you’d like to keep your pet’s ashes.

Your pet is cremated with other pets, and their ashes are spread in a beautiful area of Colorado. This is an environmentally friendly, and respectful way to return your pet's ashes to the earth.

FAQ: What happens if my pet passes away before our euthanasia appointment?
Your pet’s condition may change very quickly, and they may pass naturally before a scheduled at-home euthanasia appointment.
If this happens, contact Dr. Amy as soon as you are able. She can let you know what to do next and discuss available aftercare options with you.
